Sierra is reporting 7-9 inches from the storm yesterday. Storm had a bit less forcing over the mountains than expected due to winds out of the South rather than the Southwest or West. That brings the week's storm total to 3 feet 3 inches. Still on track to break 6 feet this week.
Next storm has already moved in and will last into the night. This storm is much stronger than yesterday's storm. Looking for 15-20 inches at the base, with 20-24+ inches above 7000 ft.
Next storm moves in from the South tomorrow. Looking like the heaviest snow will stay just to the South of Tahoe. Preliminary estimates are 8-14 inches at the base, with 14-20+ inches above 7000 ft.
Snow showers may linger into Saturday morning with additional light accumulations. Looking dry Saturday and Sunday ahead of the next approaching storm. Models still not in agreement with the storms strength, timing, or track. Let's just get through the next two days of heavy snow and then hopefully things will be more clear on the Monday storm by then.
Next week the storms look more spaced out with maybe 3 storms over the course of the week. The first week of February looks stormy with the possibility of a Pineapple Connection developing. Stay tuned........BA
