How Much Snow is on the Way?

Most of us now know that the snow is on the way so let's take a look at the potential snowfall amounts over the next 10 days.

The first wave moves in Wednesday and looks light with maybe a few inches of snow on the upper mountain.  Then some heavier precip arrives on Thursday.  We could see 6-9 inches of snow on the mountain by Friday morning.

The next wave moves in on Friday and lasts into Saturday.  We could see the snow levels come up to 8000 ft. at the onset and then fall below the base by Saturday morning.  The summit could pick up 2-3 feet of snow with lesser amounts at the base.  At the base it depends on how fast the snow levels fall but I still think we could pick up a foot or more.

A third wave moves in on Sunday.  This wave is much colder and could drop 1-2 more feet on the mountain by Monday.  There is another wave behind that for Tuesday into Wednesday that could also drop another foot or more.

All told over the next 9 days we could pick up 4-7 feet on the mountain.  The details could change over the next few days so stay tuned.  But the fact that big snow is finally on the way will not.  It's finally our turn for some big snow and the mountain should look a lot different a week from now.  BA
