Tuesday Evening Storm Update...

We picked up a foot of snow yesterday from the first storm which was a great base for the next 3-4 feet on the way.

On Sunday I was thinking 3-4 feet for the week including the Monday storm. It now looks like we will pick up 3-4 feet the next 2 days on top of the Monday storm. As the storm approaches the coast the amount of moisture it will deliver continues to bump up on the forecast models.

The snow has already begun to fall this evening and it will continue through Thursday evening. The heaviest snow will fall in the early morning through early afternoon hours Wednesday. Then another wave enhance the snowfall Wednesday night before a third wave enhances snowfall again on Thursday. This is a cold storm and the powdery snow is really going to pile up.

Right now the current forecast is for 20-30 inches at the base, 30-40 inches over most of the mountain, and up to 45+ inches on the summits above 8000 ft. So lots of fun to come over the next couple of days.  Totals for the week could easily be over 4 feet up top by Friday.

The forecast for the weekend looks dry and sunny with highs in the 30's and 40's to go out and enjoy all of the snow. Chances for some more storms towards the end of next week. BA
