Big Change for Tuesday as the mild air is replaced by cold air and we could see several inches of snow on the mountain. The snow should be falling by the time the lifts are turning Tuesday morning. The cold front will bring a quick burst of snow as it moves through with colder air behind it. Highs will only be in the 20s and 30s.
The current snowfall forecast is for 2-4 inches at the base of the mountains and 4-8 inches up top by Tuesday afternoon.
Fair weather will return for Wednesday and temperatures will begin to moderate again into the 40s for the end of the week and the weekend. A storm moving through to our North over the weekend may bring some wind, clouds, and maybe a few flakes of snow.
Next week the forecast models are showing a long-wave trough possibly setting up off the West Coast. That could open the door to several storms through the week. Right now it's too early to say how much snow we could see. Depending on how far South the storm track sets up we could see several light snow events, or possibly a couple of bigger snowfall events. Stay tuned. BA
