It Keeps Coming Down

We picked up 10 inches overnight and already another 3 inches this morning on top of the inch from Monday.  That brings the storm total to 14 inches so far and the snow keeps falling with no end in sight.

We could see another 3-5 inches today and then steady snow falling through Friday bringing 3-6 about every 12 hours.  The snow levels are coming up a little so it may rain some at the base until a cold front approaches and lowers snow levels on Friday.  By Friday we could see another 1-2 feet.

Then the strong cold front pushes towards Tahoe Friday night bringing heavy snow and falling snow levels.  The heavy snow should last through the day on Saturday bringing 2-3 feet to the base and 3-4 feet to the summit.  This will be a cold and powdery snow much lighter than what is falling this week.

The post-frontal snow showers could linger through the day on Sunday bringing us several more inches.  By the Monday morning snow report we could have totals of 5-8 feet on the mountain for the week.

There are more storms that will be approaching the West coast next week but the forecast models are in a bit of disagreement on how far South they will come.  BA
