18 Inches of Fresh Snow with More Unsettled Weather this Week

Sierra picked up 18 inches Saturday and Saturday night. That brings the total for the week to over 3 feet at 40 inches. March finished on a good note and April started on one as well. We will rebound back to spring Monday and Tuesday before a cold trough settles in by mid-week.

The next trough will dig down the West Coast and bring colder air and a chance for light snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. There is not moisture with this system so the colder air will have a bigger impact than the snowfall. We could see several inches of snow Wednesday-Friday with scattered snow showers and highs only in the 30's on the mountain as the trough hangs around the West Coast.

The ridge looks like it will build in next weekend bringing quiet weather for at least a week. Looking at the teleconnection forecast we could see some more active weather later in the mont of April, but we have plenty of time to watch for that. BA
